Titanic Dock Belfast - Fabric Form Works
In the year of the centenary celebrations for the launch of the Titanic, fabric formwork is currently being used by one of our dive teams to provide bearings and seals for the temporary works being constructed by McLaughlin and Harvey Ltd to Thompsons Dry Dock in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter. This is the dry dock in which the worlds most famous ship was outfitted in. Once the temporary works are completed a new permanent concrete wall will be built in front of the dock's ageing, once steam operated, caisson gate.
The fabric formwork bearings provide full face contact between the sheet piled walls restraining framework whilst the seals prevent water ingress between the sheet piles and the irregular face of the dry dock wall.
