Hydrographic Surveys

Hydrographic Surveys are carried out by the company using side scan sonar, magnetometers, and sub bottom profilers.

Surveys are typically carried out to locate lost high value objects such as dropped anchors to allow their recovery.

To find debris that has been dropped or deposited in berths prior, such as scrap metal, rock armour, or lost cargo to allow its clearance prior to the berthing of drilling rigs or vessels with a draft deeper than the berth that will sit on the seabed at low water.

Surveys are also carried out to determine if a harbour structure is being subject to the effects of scour and subsequent undermining. Surveys are carried out from one of our own vessels, a vessel supplied by the port or if the survey is to be in a confined space by one of our inspection class ROV’s.
